A Collective Effort by the Wealth & Asset Advisors Team
This year’s Wealth & Asset Advisors calendar is more than a collection of dates—it’s a celebration of the place we call home and the extraordinary natural world that surrounds us. Instead of using stock photography, our team set out to create something personal, meaningful, and rooted in the Overberg’s unique environment.
Camera in hand, Jeremy & Tanya B captured the remarkable diversity of the indigenous fynbos that flourishes here. But the calendar you now hold was truly a team effort. From selecting images to refining layouts and bringing the final product to life, the entire Wealth & Asset Advisors team played a valuable part in creating this special edition.
Why Fynbos?
Fynbos is not only beautiful — it is globally significant. The Kogelberg region is the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, the world’s richest plant biosphere, home to an astonishing variety of species found nowhere else on Earth.
In celebrating these plants, we also celebrate the qualities they represent — qualities that mirror the way we choose to serve our clients: with care, resilience, integrity, and long‑term commitment.
To honour this, we chose to feature plants that tell the story of both our region and our approach to financial service:
- The King Protea (Protea cynaroides) – South Africa’s national flower, known for its impressive 30 cm flowerheads and year‑round bloom, thriving from sea level to 1 500 m. It stands tall, strong, and unmistakable — much like the stable, dependable guidance we aim to provide our clients.
- The Pincushion (Leucospermum cordifolium) – Our brand symbol, recognised for its bright yellow‑to‑crimson “pins,” and celebrated for its remarkable comeback after being reintroduced to Hermanus, where it is now thriving. Like this resilient species, we believe in renewal, adaptability, and supporting clients through every season of their financial journey.
- The Rooistompie (Mimetes cucullatus) – A vivid, multi‑stemmed shrub found across the Kogelberg and Cape Peninsula, easily spotted by its symmetrically arranged leaves and striking red new growth. Its vibrant growth reflects the energy and dedication our team brings to serving clients — always growing, learning, and looking ahead.
- The Bearded Sugarbush (Protea lepidocarpodendron) – A rare and near‑threatened species occurring between Cape Town and Kleinmond, known for its distinctive purple‑black “beard” beneath its flowerheads. This protea reminds us of the importance of protecting what is valuable and unique — just as we prioritise safeguarding our clients’ financial wellbeing with honesty and personalised care.

What This Calendar Represents
Fynbos embodies resilience and renewal. Many species depend on fire to regenerate and emerge stronger each season. Their diversity and adaptability mirror values we embrace as a business:

A Message from Jeremy
Our desk calendars have always aimed to be bright, engaging, and refreshingly non‑corporate. This year’s edition, “Fynbos of the Kogelberg,” showcases just a small glimpse of the extraordinary floral kingdom found in the Kogelberg mountain range—right on the doorstep of Kleinmond.
All photographs featured in the calendar were taken by two of our Kleinmond office staff, Tanya Büxmann and myself, during the spring of 2025. We truly enjoyed seeking out and capturing the stunning variety of local fynbos species.
We hope you enjoy the splendour of these beautiful flowers as much as we enjoyed putting this calendar together. It is a 14‑month calendar, starting in December 2025 and continuing through to January 2027, giving you an extended journey through the natural treasures of our region.
